March is Women’s History Month!

During March, AvenuesSLS.org will be spotlighting pioneers who work(ed) for the inclusion of ALL people throughout their lifespan. Historically, people with intellectual and developmental disabilities have been marginalized, and history books don’t share the remarkable stories of this group’s fight for their Civil Rights. There are so many inspiring voices in our field and we are proud to share just a few of their stories.
Avenues Supported Living Services is proud to share stories in conjunction with other organizations recognizing women throughout professions and cultures. The Library of Congress, National Archives and Records Administration, National Endowment for the Humanities, National Gallery of Art, National Park Service, Smithsonian Institution and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum join in commemorating and encouraging the study, observance, and celebration of the vital role of women in American history. https://womenshistorymonth.gov/
